Creating Web Graphics for Nutrinsider 5
Web Site Design for “Nutrinsider”
In our previous post we explained in great detail how we created the graphical Background – evocative of Fitness, Vitality and Wellness – for both the new Nutrinsider Website and the corresponding Twitter Account.
Let’s now look at what else we had to design to give “Nutrinsider” a sexy face, a visual identity, a human touch.
Semiomantics NewsCast Script
For this we had to look at the category structure, orientation and positionings we had previously determined in the Semiomantics NewsCast Script to see where the graphic elements had to go, which impact they would have and which categories should accordingly be prioritized.
Lose Weight with Nutrinsider
The “Featured Category” to the top left definitely is the prime position offering the largest size for web graphics or photos. Here we needed an attractive high quality picture that. . .
~ could be used as the default picture for a main category, in this case Weight Loss;
~ would fit into the colour scheme and ideally pick up the background theme;
~ would sensuously address the real reasons for wanting to be in shape and
~ thus have an emotional impact that triggers a reaction.
Nutrinsider Woman
Personally, I wanted to address “Femininity” in this graphic image – a theme I am working on as a Digital Artist.
Like previously with the background motive, this allowed me to save time and integrate a graphic element I had created earlier, namely the beautiful shape you see – giving it a slogan “Shape Matters”. I experimented with fonts that expressed the ‘Shape” issue itself, although I would have liked to take it further… but I had to move on with the job.
Nutrinsider Man
Of course, this needed the male pendant… and again I could dive into my magic box and gain time by using an image I had already worked on for KICK ART … in case you remember :)
Obviously, it always needs adaptation as to the background – here I inversed it to give it a more solid touch – and the soft shape of the font that worked well for “Shape Matters” had to be turned into something upright and … well, vital LOL. And the colour RED just gave it the optimal kick… “Vitality Matters” !
Sports Nutrition with Nutrinsider
Sports Nutrition is another mega keyword on “Nutrinsider” and I created a quick little banner for the top right position – well visible for anyone visiting the website. At a later stage, we will have a banner rotator here.
Antiaging with Nutrinsider
Anti-Aging (Antiageing) is a huge market, especially with so many baby boomers wanting to boom forever young, fit and looking good and sexy. It means feeling good inside and looking good outside and requires Inner Nutrition as well as Outer Nutrition.
My Anti-Ageing Banner got the bottom position for the time being :)
The trouble with this word is that it’s written in so many different versions and all have a lot of Traffic. This means we have to cater for them all.
Weight Loss with Nutrinsider
Losing 10, 20, 30 or more pounds is the goal of so many people and the fact is that even if you lose 5 lbs or 7 lbs it will have a clear positive impact on your entire state of Health and Wellbeing.
To address these very specific issues, Nutrinsider will provide the reader with solid information and a twinkle in the eye… as at the end of the day we are all human beings loving to eat and indulge in what we love, don’t we? So why not have Fun while getting the results of our ‘sinning’ out of the way. . . especially off our hips?

Creating Web Graphics for Nutrinsider
On a final note to this first round of Web graphics for “Nutrinsider”:
It took me about 10 hours of focused work and bearing in mind that the refined elements (background image, the girl and the man) had been prepared before and just needed some adaptation and integration – thus a big time saving and a gift for the Client. However, given the fact that we work together since many years this is OK. Trust built on a successful cooperation over time is absolutely priceless – and while the Client expresses it in providing the artist with a stream of ideally well-paid jobs, the Web Graphic Designer in turn not only offers the best Service but would even go the extra mile.
