Which Fonts should I use with CSS?
“Which Fonts should I use with CSS style sheets” is a frequent question, especially where people are relatively new to Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).
Fonts and Typography
Fonts and Typography are crucial for the look of your Design – whether it is a traditional book, catalogue or magazine – or the Web Design for a website or blog online.
However, there are differences between the offline preparation for a print and the online version; that’s why we should look at Font Families.
Font Families
The short answer to the above question is that you should choose from the following 5 generic font families that can all be displayed as defaults by the browser (eg. Internet Explorer, Firefox…) :
1. Serif
2. Sans-serif
3. Script
4. Monospace
5. Fantasy
Serif and Sans-serif can be used without any further considerations; Script and Fantasy are more artistic and fun yet dicy as rarely found on computers, which means the computer can’t display them. Using them in pictures is the solution.
You will notice that the Monospace is frequently used for codes and pre-formated text.
Obviously, each font family has many type faces that allow us to choose according to the look and touch we want to give our Website or Blog.
