Emigrating. . .
Emigrating. . .
Cape Town, 23 April 2009 – by Bianca Gubalke
Seeing no other way than leaving one’s beloved country behind for an unknown land, a completely different culture and an undefinable future never is easy… and before doing this decisive and in a way final ‘cut’… and as the day where everything changes comes closer and closer…, feelings of doubt, anxiety and fear can be overwhelming and leave little room for the initial excitement to start a new Life, a better Life and having clear reasons for doing so.
Right now, our friend Besma Bashier from Amman, Jordan – but originally from Baghdad in Iraq – is in that exact situation, together with her family.
She is packing her last suitcase and getting ready for her flight with no return – at least not within the immediate future. At this very moment, while you are reading this and listening into our Interview. Listen to the pauses… they reveal just as much as her sweet genuine openness reflect her fine upbringing and cultured background between the Middle East and the West, her strength and feminine attitudeĀ just as well as her humanity when expressing her fears but also her hopes before doing the big final move.
Before…
Besma is going through this process in a very conscientious as well as conscious way as she knows she is not only doing it for herself and her family… but also for others… people in an identical situation… as we will see later in the way she will integrate her experience in form of a Service for the Arab world in her Online Newspaper…
Later, once the big first step lies behind her… and her new Life has started and taken shape.
After…
We have agreed to do part 2 of the Interview “How to start a New Life in the USA” sometime in her ‘new’ future to see what she has found and how her experience can serve others…
But now let’s listen into the first part of “Emigrating” that will concentrate on…
1. who Besma is, what Home means to her and her Values are;
2. how she feels now, before leaving… and what she leaves behind;
3. what she expects on the other side… what she hopes to find:
4. what will always connect her… what doesn’t change;
5. how she will integrate her new findings within a special online Service.
