Semantic Art

Cape Town, 23 April 2009 – by Bianca Gubalke

Our various posts on “Semantic Art” using Semiomantics Scripts have made it to the top of Google within less than 24 hours, occupying 6/10 positions on page One.

Just as everything of real value is a matter of continuous practice and doing - including designing or painting virtual web graphics or any form of art work -, we will publish additional versions of  “Brenda’s World” by Bianca Gubalke  and try to solidify our ranking – here’s the next portrait in lighter pink colours and a green hat on which you can very clearly identify the basic sketch from where it all started …

As mentioned, it all started with a little “Spontaneous Sketch”… in my view the ‘semantic art’ aspect as is formulated in the official Research Library on “Semantic Art”:

“The artist was required to execute drawings or paintings without conscious intervention, so tapping the unconscious. The resulting work would then comprise largely ‘natural signs’, which could be contemplated and deciphered by the artist. As products of an intelligible, rational universe, these natural signs are comprehensible, although some might be so complex as to defy adequate interpretation.”

For your recollection, here’s again the initial 10 second sketch:
