Windows 7
Windows 7
Windows 7 – finally! Here’s my first post from Windows 7 . . . and with quite some programs still missing, especially Adobe Photoshop and all my pictures! So I have to get some magic out of NextGenGallery!
Windows 7
Windows 7 is all geared for Multi Media and needs a lot of punch; that’s where the imminent future is and as Web Designers, Internet Marketers and anyone involved in Online Communication and Social Media Publishing we’ve got to prepare for it now. I just did a clean and painless Windows 7 installation on a new 500 GB harddrive and I invested in a good Media efficient Graphics Card! I spent most of the day downloading and installing all the programs we need, be in SmartFTP, PSpad Editor or Mozilla Firefox… and then I looked at Security! Ha!
Windows 7 Security in South Africa
Following Yorgo Nestoridis’ wise instructions on Windows 7 Security sounded good and the right thing to do: to download Microsoft Security Essentials after investing in Microsoft’s Windows 7… (. . . following the costly Vista experience that is :)
But while it seems that the money is good never mind where it comes from, some countries are just treated differently than others, even in the “global village” of the Internet… – and in South Africa we just get this encouraging message:
“Not available in your country or region
You appear to be in a country or region where Microsoft Security Essentials is not available. Thank you for your interest in Microsoft Security Essentials.”
BANG!
Avast! for Online Security
Here’s for my South African friends: I’m back with an AV program I have always been very happy with – and I tested many of them over the years: I stick with Avast! for Online Security.
Free for Home users… and a decent price for Business Accounts… and most importantly: they are GOOD and AVAILABLE… even at the end of the world… as if that mattered online :)
