Accommodation Noordhoek

Over the past 23 hours we targeted “Accommodation Noordhoek” to show the efficiency of our Semiomantics Scripts paired with smart Editing and Publishing.

This theme or keyword combination has never been of any interest to us in the past, thus we approached it completely new and took as an example for this exercise De Noordhoek Hotel – a business that should naturally be interested in anything to do with accommodation, hotels, rooms to book or places to stay in the beautiful Noordhoek area… where the flowering gums just start to release their colors of hot reds, voluptuous pinks and soft whites.

Within less than 24 hours, our results have been astonishing and as always eye-opening… and they also left me with a quiz I still have to solve.

The game is not over yet as while we made it already to Google Top 10 in France on Accomodation Noordhoek, and to page two in most researches, our objective for Noordhoek Accommodation is obviously Google Top 10 in general – the place to be.

Now, the competition has been working for their positions and then defending them heavily over years – so it’s quite a challenge – WHEW! But South Africans like challenges and I am born and bred SA – YEBO GOGO!

Also, including your keyword in the domain name definitely is an advantage, however, results differ when searching on different Google Search Engines – and we just focused on a few here.

De Noordhoek Hotel obviously caters for South Africans – who would search on google.co.za… unless they just come and drop in and ask for a cool beer in good SA style!

However, the bigger interest in view of the Soccer World Cup 2010 might be overseas tourists from Germany, France and other places – and while they might simply ask their travel agents in a good old low-tech fashion, the increasing number of spiffy high-techies who would use Search Engines to find Accommodation in a lost place like Noordhoek would definitely have the google.com reflex…

Here’s the screenshot of what we achieved in less than 23 hours with just 2 posts – interestingly, we bypassed our friends at the “De Noordhoek Hotel”, who are also running a Google Ad as you can see to the top right.

If they had a position on Google Top 10 they might be able to save some serious money and attract more prospects simply because of higher and especially consistent visibility, a much better ranking, being where people look… having a 24/7/365 presence that is:

If you click on the images they maximize within an overlay, just give it a minute.

In Germany, they would search on google.de… and here we’ve almost made it to Google Top 10… in fact our network already occupies 4/10 spots on page 2 although most of it is currently under maintenance – all based on my 2 posts so far – and would steadily move forward if this were our main objective :

If in France, people would probably have the the google.fr reflex… where – lo and behold – we have already reached Google Top 10 on 208 000 search returns! Not bad after less than a day. . .

As we see, while we still have to improve on the home turf – where I have the feeling that not having a co.za domain as in my case here is a disadvantage – we have swiftly passed our example – De Noordhoek Hotel – on the international field.

The question is: where do they expect their customers to come from and look for them? They should know best and take the appropriate action.

However, while I am very intrigued by a weird issue that you may or may not have picked up and that this post may solve, our exercise here is a clear indication as to where a business with an ambition to be visible online needs to be found… from where follows which action needs to be taken, and, once the target is reached, has to be maintained.

Google is temperamental and changes daily… the competition doesn’t sleep… and our fellow South Africans are great, sporty people!

Let’s see what our results will be and where we go from here!

It is hot and sunny in Noordhoek – time for a cool beer!
