What characterizes Noordhoek is not only its vibrant community of Nature lovers, artists, musicians, writers, scientists and ecologically aware people – many of which have lived in other countries and continents for years if not decades like myself … which indicates an open-mindedness and a love to travel, learn and discover – but also a “low-profile” approach with lots of compassion, generosity and support within the community.
Noordhoek Social Networking
The “Noordhoek Project” where Noordhoekers are connected to Noordhoekers via the virtual highway has been on my mind for a while… as something precious and special that needed to be done in the right way… possibly also because I am part of it and there are so many absolutely lovable people.
With YORGOO Media the time may have come to realize such a complex and ambitious project where the unique Noordhoek Community Spirit is enhanced, respected and protected by Noordhoekers for Noordhoekers – without dominance from outside.
When discussing the ‘Noordhoek Social Networking’ aspect of this project this morning with Yorgo, we compared its basic principles to Social Network giant Facebook.
You might ask: “Why a Noordhoek Media Network if everyone is anyway on Facebook?”

Good question!
The answer is simple and Noordhoek free spirits will love it: YOUR Freedom and Independance!
Let me explain:
While Facebook offers some great features and is an interesting socializing platform if used correctly – as for instance demonstrated in the presidential campaign of Barack Obama – the fact is that Facebook is big business. So. . .
Firstly, Facebook works for Facebook! Don’t forget, to have a look at anything you are required to sign up: hopp… into the Facebook pool… and once your name is registered and possibly you write some great content, Facebook grows and so does its market value… and because Facebook is obviously stronger than you are, you may lose your top rankings on Google to it. Think about it: there are only 10 positions on the left side of Google page one…
Rather be in control of your name and your keywords!
Secondly, on Facebook you are within a completely enclosed environment as regards Google – meaning that everything you publish within Facebook will never help you to improve your Google ranking – which is your top priority when working from home and conducting any sort of business online.
Now here’s the good news and the big difference:
While it’s still in the development and testing phase, the fact is that whatever you publish on your YORGOO Media Blog helps you to make it to the top on Google!
