Announcing: Noordhoek went Live on YORGOO Media!

Following Yorgo’s brilliant instructions as mentioned in the post earlier and according to which his own Africa Blog is configured, I set up my brand-new Noordhoek Blog within a short space of time.

What was my experience?

It was great fun plus an interesting learning curve as he guides us through all the “style stuff” in a way that takes the fear out of getting near ‘those’. Of ocurse, he enjoys putting in a tricky note as usual… but  this one was manageable :)

I encourage everybody to follow suite with a theme you are interested in!

Noordhoek on the Map!

Always good to immediately make a little screenshot as a reminder of how and when it all started…
The way we are evolving and growing we will look back one day with awe!

Of course, I should insert Google Earth here for the Noordhoek Map… but with my shaky connections I am grateful I can get into my Dashboard… so don’t expect me to risk being kicked out… even when bringing down servers has become an official sport at YORGOO! Olympics belong to Greece and…  should stay there – yiassou!

Where is Noordhoek?

Not far from Cape Town… hidden at the Southern tip of Africa en route to the Cape of Good Hope – which is also well-known to sailors and boat owners as the awe-inspiring “Cape of Storms” – nestling below Chapman’s Peak against the wild slopes of the Table Mountain range… is Noordhoek – which means “Northern Corner” in Afrikaans… and Dutch.

The Noordhoek factor

I discovered Noordhoek when it was hardly on the map… a secret paradise where artists, writers, musicians, ecologists and individualists with a penchant for Nature, music, horses and a self-sufficient country lifestyle had found a home.

People in Noordhoek are special…. imagine a lady with several doctorates in Science driving her tractor and living Life the way she and family understand it… her husband adding some more doctorates to the collection.

Imagine… a young professor from Germany with a daily slot on the radio having the time of his life on horseback or in the mountains… far away from the madness of the world.

Noordhoek is a bonded community where everybody knows everybody and noone needs to be alone. . .

Noordhoek Today

Meanwhile, Noordhoek is “in”. Its beautiful white and isolated beach – Longbeach – is the most filmed beach of Africa – “Ryan’s Daughter” was shot here, amongst others.

Noordhoek’s Vineyards produce the finest Chardonnay; the wine has won many international awards… and so have its ‘horsy people’… you even find “Olympic Gold”.

And then there is Frank, arguably South Africa’s best chef. But that’s worth a chapter by itself…

Before I lose myself… this is just the beginning of the Noordhoek Blog on YORGOO Media, the finest Semiomantics script on the net!
